Commissioning & Troubleshooting:
the art of finding out why.
Writing logic is half the job. The other half happens standing in front of a machine that doesn't move: checking I/O before power-up, forcing with discipline, tracing a dead signal from sensor head to logic, watching live values online, and hunting faults with a method instead of a hunch. There are six chapters, each with a live rig to break and fix.
The code is (usually) innocent
🔍 most 'PLC bugs' on site turn out to be wiring, configuration, air or mechanics, while your logic was fine all along. An engineer with a method finds them in minutes; one without can lose a night shift to a loose terminal.
Evidence before action
🧪 every chapter builds the same habit: observe first, form a hypothesis second, and only then change exactly one thing. The half-split method finds a dead signal, a dead network segment and a dead machine exactly the same way.
