🛡️ The Suspiciously Fun PLC Series · Track 12

Safety · TwinSAFE:
the system that says no.

Standard PLC code keeps a machine running. Functional safety brings the risk of that machine hurting someone down to a tolerable level, and it has to keep doing so even if the standard code crashes. TwinSAFE runs that independent, certified safety layer on dedicated TwinSAFE terminals, over the same EtherCAT network as the rest of the machine (FSoE). This track covers why the layer exists, safe I/O, the safety logic, E-stops, and SIL/PL.
