Who we are

TryPLC ("we", "us") provides a free, browser-based PLC programming and automation training platform at tryplc.com.

What we collect

  • Account data — when you sign up: email, optional username, avatar URL.
  • Progress data — exercises completed, XP earned, lesson state.
  • Contact submissions — name, email, subject, message you send via the contact form.
  • Anonymous usage — basic browser/page metrics for performance.

How we use it

To run your account, save your learning progress across devices, reply to your messages, and improve the product. We do not sell your data.

Storage & security

Data is stored in our managed backend with row-level security so only you (and admins of TryPLC) can access your records.

How long we keep it

  • Account and progress data — kept while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days of you asking us to close it.
  • Contact form messages — kept up to 24 months so we can follow up on a support thread, then deleted.
  • Anonymous analytics — retained by Google Analytics under its own retention policy; we do not keep a separate copy.
  • Guest progress — stored only in your own browser's local storage until you clear it, or migrated to your account if you sign up.

Your rights

You can request export or deletion of your account at any time by emailing ali.harirrou@tryplc.com. We answer within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Our lawful bases are your consent (for advertising and analytics cookies) and legitimate interest / contract performance (for running your account). You may withdraw consent at any time, and you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Exercising these rights will never result in a worse experience on TryPLC.

Ads on this site are served by Google, which sets its own cookies as described below. To control or withdraw what Google may use for personalised advertising, use the opt-out links in the Advertising section, or your browser's cookie controls.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your editor preferences. Our advertising partner (see below) also sets cookies to serve and measure ads.
