Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using TryPLC you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

TryPLC is an educational platform: lessons, a browser-based Structured Text, ladder and SFC simulator, a book, articles, reference pages and calculators. The simulator and lessons are for learning purposes only and must not be used as a substitute for production-grade PLC engineering tools or for safety-critical decisions.

Real controllers differ from the simulator in timing, memory handling and vendor extensions. Always commission and validate a real machine with the manufacturer's own software and procedures, and follow the safety standards that apply to it.

3. Your account

You can use most of TryPLC without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for any activity under it. Keep your credentials private and give us accurate information when you sign up. You can ask us to close your account at any time; see the privacy policy for what happens to your data.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, copy in bulk, or republish the lessons, book or articles;
  • attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for weaknesses, or overload it with automated requests;
  • click or generate traffic on advertisements artificially, or ask others to;
  • use the service to break the law or to harm other people.

5. Intellectual property

All TryPLC content (lessons, exercises, book, articles, branding, code) is © TryPLC unless stated otherwise. You may use it for personal learning and may quote short extracts with a link back to the source. You may not redistribute or resell it.

Product and company names such as ABB, KUKA, FANUC, Siemens and Rockwell Automation belong to their owners. They appear here only to describe the equipment our material is about. TryPLC is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any of them.

6. Feedback and messages

If you send us a message, a correction or a suggestion, you allow us to use it to improve TryPLC without owing you anything for it. We will not publish your name or email address without asking you first.

7. Advertising and third-party services

TryPLC is free because it shows advertising served by Google on article and reference pages. Advertisers and their content are selected by Google and are not endorsed by us. We also rely on third-party services for hosting, sign-in and analytics. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms; how they handle your data is described in our privacy policy.

8. Availability

We work to keep TryPLC available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including features and content, at any time.

9. Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. If we do, we will tell you why where we reasonably can.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including reliance on simulator output or lesson content for real-world automation work. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.

11. Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
